New volunteer opportunity in the Ventura River Preserve.

Join us on Sunday for a special event to collect native seeds, remove invasive plants, and improve habitat for endangered steelhead in the Ventura River Preserve.

Project Details:
When: Sunday, April 7th
Time: 8:30 am — 12:30 pm

What We'll Be Doing:

We'll be collecting native seeds, removing invasive plants, and improving habitat for endangered steelhead in the Ventura River Preserve.

Work will involve hand-pulling weeds; the use of hand tools like hula hoes, specialized gardening knives (Hori Horis!) and rakes; gathering seeds; moving logs to create habitat; and bagging weeds for removal from the site. There are a variety of task lined up, so there's something for everyone!

What You'll Need:

Please bring gloves and closed-toe shoes with good grip (preferably boots).

Additional recommended items include a small pack with water and snacks, pants, a long-sleeve shirt, sun protection, and a light rain jacket (just in case).
