About Us

Who is the OVLC and what do we do?

We’re a community of folks, who value the preservation of this little valley we call Ojai.  We are a group of about 800 member families, 10 board members, 7 staff members and countless volunteers.  It takes a community, all working together to protect YOUR Ojai.

We maintain many partnerships with other nonprofits, government agencies, private landowners, and others in an effort to leverage the modest private donations we receive from members and friends to bring benefits from available public dollars and programs to Ojai whenever possible.

We work with willing local landowners to either purchase or acquire conservation easements on private property, which have the potential to be developed in the future.  Funding is provided in a variety of ways for these acquisitions, through the help of the landowners themselves, public grant funds, and private donations.
